I see my domain as where I reside, as it is the only stability in my life, but I guess the net world doesn't operate in a vacuum, it operates just as any other bit of the art/entertainment industry... where boozing and smoozing often hold more weight than the work in question. Obviously flesh to flesh contact gives one a feeling of comfort with a person and their work as one has engaged with them in a multisensory manner, subliminally noted their nonverbals, sniffed their pheronomes, and had that nice thing happen where two hearts beat at the same rhythm within a certain physical proximity, i.e. shared a hard softskinned space. I do believe a "local area network" is incredibly valuable as I certainly don't live on bytes alone. But when the local area network excludes the extended area network, a.k.a. Internet, it's a ghetto. Melinda Rackham
