Advanced Web Design

Instructions for creating your own personal site for the class:

Each student in Advanced Web Design is required to create and maintain a web site that is stored on the MICA server with the following components:

  1. Successfully links from the class page off of the syllabus, with the home page titled "index.html."
  2. Home page that includes table of contents (may also be preceded by a splash page)
  3. Bio section - written biography of at least 50 words describing your interests/approach to art and any exhibition record, etc.
  4. Notebook section - includes all of your notebook entries based on readings and artworks we have discussed in class. So far these include articles by David Ross, Natalie Bookchin, Peter Walsh, our discussion of the Telematic Connections exhibition, and one on the topic for your hyperessay. (See syllabus for more info)
  5. Portfolio section - includes examples of your work from outside of this class, from any genre or media you may be working with.
  6. Projects section - includes links to all projects created in Advanced Web Design, such as video pieces, etc. You could if you want, put your interview video in the bio section.
  7. It is critical that everything is working, no dead links, broken graphics, etc.
  8. Be sure you have properly thought out the information design so that the user can easily navigate the site.
  9. Check your spelling, particularly in the notebook section.
