Instructions for FTP (File Transfer Protocol)

This will allow you to transfer files from any computer to your website. To upload images to the Web, setup Fetch (or an equivalent Windows ftp program) in the following way:

• Go to the "Customize" menu and choose "New Shortcut"
• Fill out the shortcut fields with the following information

Name: "My Website" (anything you like)

Host: davinci.mica.edu

User ID: rpacker (1st initial followed by last name, no more than 8 letters)

Password: randall1 (first name + 1)

Directory: public_html/

Once you have created a shortcut, you can go to the "File" menu and choose "Open Shortcut" and this will open the window where you can upload and download files. To create a new folder, go to the "Directories" menu and choose "Create New Directory." To upload an image, click on the "Put File" button. To download an image, click on the "Get File" button.
