Eduardo Kac

Eduardo Kac is a writer and artist who works with computers, holography, telepresence, video, and the Internet. His 1994 networked telepresence installation Ornitorrinco in Eden, in collaboration with Ed Bennett, was the first telerobotic artwork to be realized on the Internet. A-Positive, another interactive work by Kac and Ed Bennett was shown at the 1997 ISEA (International Society of the Electronic Arts) Conference. Kac sent blood from one arm to a "biobot." The device is designed to aerate the blood, forcing it to release oxygen that will fuel a small flame. The process also triggers the release of a glucose-saline solution into Kac's other arm.
