Blast

Under the guise of the X-Art Foundation, and under the direction of editor Jordan Crandall, Blast has since its beginning in 1990, set out to explore contemporary texts and images and their accompanying practices of reading, viewing, and authoring. Blast is a catalyst for bringing together artists, scholars, theoreticians in the field of new media. One of its more recent projects, The Eyebeam Atelier, focused on issues in the digital arts as an ongoing on-line / on-site forum. Blast hosted a discussion on Nettime critiquing the first Net Art show in the 1997 Documenta exhibition, and the recent Voti project confronts the war in Kosovo.
