Theory, founded by the media theorists / authors Arthur and Marilouise
Kroker, is an international journal of theory, technology and culture.
Since its inception in the early days of web culture, 1994, the journal
has published articles, interviews and book reviews engaging in contemporary
discourse in new media. With early writings ranging from Jean Baudrillard's
"Rise of
the Void Towards the Periphery" to the Critical Art Ensemble's
"The
Technology of Uselessness," to the more recent book review of
"How We Became Posthuman:
Virtual Bodies in Cybernetics, Literature, and Informatics" by
Kathryn Hayles, C Theory has made one of the most important and provocative
contributions's to critical writing in and about the medium.
